Welcome to NativeFluteSchool.com - home of music workshops for the Native American Flute facilitated by Clint Goss and Vera Shanov.
Since 2003 we have led workshops from one hour to one week in length, centered on music-making and self expression with the Native American Flute. Our Native Flute Schools are designed for players of all backgrounds who want to raise their playing and enjoyment of the instrument.
Sessions focus on playing technique, improvisation styles, jamming with other musicians (flute as well as guitar, piano, etc), adding your voice to your music, incorporating rhythm, and song forms.
You will come away with the ability to play with confidence and an understanding of rhythms, tones and improvisation.
The native flute is simple to play ... you don't even have to read music!
Please visit other pages in this web site for an outline of our programs and a list of upcoming workshops.
For Experienced Players
In addition to a specific track for experienced players at each workshop,
some of the Native Flute Schools have a track for participants who would like to facilitate music activities
at flute schools and their own music workshops. This Facilitator Training Program, teaches the basics of music facilitation. Participants completing the facilitator training program are eligible to be listed on the NFS Facilitator Roster, a way to offer your services back to the NAF community at flute circles and workshops.
